Buying used scooters

There are many reasons why buying reconditioned or second hand mobility equipment can be advantageous.

Lower prices. Nearly new equipment a few months old and hardly used may have a price tag of only a third of rrp, and should be every bit as good as a new one would be if you had used it for just a few months.

Cheap bargains can be found, mobility scooters that don't necessarily look all that glitzy but do the job can be a safe way to gain some experience of using scooters, and without spending out too much initially.

Bashing. It is surprisingly easy to scrape a scooter on a curb or drive into a wall, or for a car boot scooter to be scratched and dented within a few months of use, with brand new scooters the results can be especially saddening.

Resale costs are very low, so if you decide after a while of using something, that you have purchased the wrong type. or you simply want to try a different type, then at least it will be possible to sell it on, and buy something different.

Recycling. Many products are made with plastic and similar materials, disposing of these has caused environmental harm over many decades arguably. Buying second hand will reduce demand for further unnecessary manufacturing.
